§ 19-39. Stringing and insulating wires.

  • All overhead wires shall be strung in a neat and workmanlike manner, drawn taut and firmly tied to approved insulators. They shall not be attached to a building or trees without the consent of the owners thereof, and they shall be so placed as to interfere as little as possible with the work of the firefighters in case of fire. All strong current wires shall be insulated with coatings of material as nearly as practicable proof against leakage, moisture and fraying. They shall be fastened to insulated supports by insulated wire which shall have an insulation equal to that of the conducting wire.
